
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who plays as an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 until 2020. [8][98][9] Morgan was drafted by Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. In the team, she made her professional debut and assisted the team in winning the league championship. Morgan aged 22 at the time was the youngest player on the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, in which the team finished second. In 2012's London Olympics Morgan scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final game against Canada. She was the second player in the U.S. to score 20 goals and 21 assists for 2012, which made her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring player to achieve 20 goals in one year. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was named a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States win their titles in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which included her on the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
