Salma Hayek made her Hollywood debut in Robert Rodriguez's Desperado. Her Oscar-nominated performance in Frida was the next major leap. Hayek was also involved in television, as producer of executive productions for Ugly Betty and other hit shows. Her initial roles were small however, she was eventually cast opposite Antonio Banderas on the set of 1995's Desperado.
