Anamaria Marina is a Romanian actor. She made her screen debut in her role in the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic in which she was awarded the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. French, German English and Romanian are the most spoken languages. Her father, who is a teacher of theatre at one of Romania's most prestigious theater schools, also an instructor in theatre. At the Mangalia Gala for Young Actors, she won the Best Female Actor Award 2000. In 2008 the European Film Promotion Board recognized her as the first European Shooting Star. Youth Without Youth, a Francis Ford Coppola movie, was also part of her career. In 2008 she was the character Yasim anwar in BBC mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca appeared as Yasim Anwar on Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven, in addition to the Romanian drama Boogie. The actress later played a significant role in the 2014 film Fury where she played a German woman known as Irma the aunt of Emma.
